Why We Process Your Data (Including Legal Basis)
We process your personal data for the following purposes, each with its own legal basis under the GDPR:
Responding to inquiries you send via the contact form. This is based on Article 6(1)(b) — necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract — or, where no contract is contemplated, Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in responding to visitors.
General communication with website visitors. This is based on Article 6(1)(f), our legitimate interest in operating and promoting the business.
Website analytics (non-essential cookies). This is based on Article 6(1)(a), your consent, given via the cookie banner.
Ensuring the website functions correctly (strictly necessary cookies). These are not subject to consent under the Swedish Electronic Communications Act (Lagen om elektronisk kommunikation), as they are strictly necessary for the service you requested.
Your data is not used for profiling or automated decision-making within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR.
Data Retention
Contact form inquiries that do not result in an engagement are deleted once we determine, based on inactivity or the inquiry's stated purpose, that they are no longer relevant — for example, following an extended period without further contact. Where an inquiry leads to an invoiced engagement, related accounting records are instead retained for 7 years, as required under the Swedish Bookkeeping Act.
Email correspondence handled through Gmail/Google Workspace is retained on the same basis, then deleted or archived per normal business practice, subject to the same 7-year bookkeeping exception above.
Analytics data collected through Squarespace is retained according to Squarespace's own retention settings. See Squarespace's privacy documentation for current periods.
Recipients and Data Processors
We use data processors (Art. 28 GDPR) to operate this website. They act only on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. These are Squarespace, Inc., which handles website hosting, contact forms, analytics, and cookie consent management, and Google LLC / Google Ireland Limited, which handles email correspondence through Gmail.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
International Data Transfers
Squarespace and Google may process data outside the EU/EEA, including in the United States. Where this occurs, the transfer is safeguarded by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, where the recipient is certified, and/or Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission. You can request more detail on the specific safeguards used by contacting us at the address above.
Cookies
This website uses cookies via Squarespace. Strictly necessary cookies are required for the site to function and do not require consent. Analytics and performance cookies are used to understand how visitors use the site and require your prior consent, given via the cookie banner. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the cookie banner or your browser settings. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Your Rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to request data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact bjurling.work@gmail.com to exercise these rights; we will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY), imy.se.
